In the second episode of this year’s season of “Masked Singer Sweden”, it is the Lion who has to say thank you, take off his mask and leave the program. In the panel, two are convinced that it is Mikkey Dee who is hiding behind the mask.
– If it’s not him, I’ll eat my left shoe, says Måns Zelmerlöw.
But behind the mask hides not Mikkey Dee at all, but the star chef Markus Aujalay, who we previously saw in several seasons of “Sweden’s Master Chef”.
– You sing amazingly well! I really thought it was a real music artist standing here in front of me, says Felix Herngren.
The TV chef hid in the Lion
But despite the fact that no one on the panel got it right, they are actually not completely out cycling. Markus Aujalay played drums and sang in bands when he was younger. He has had dreams of becoming a rock star since he was a child.
– Somewhere it tickles, it felt a little scary when I got the request. But I’ve always had a dream to become a rock star or an artist, so it felt like a good opportunity, says Markus in an interview.
– Partly the luxury of being able to take singing lessons and learn more about your voice. But also to perform and prepare without anyone seeing one. Then it tickles a bit to be part of this secrecy and get to see how it works, it was awesome, he continues.

Having to leave already in the first episode in which he participates feels boring to him, of course. Above all, after having completed it and feeling that it went perfectly, something that resulted in more satisfaction.
– It’s not my profession, I’m glad I got to participate. I would have liked to make another song, but it’s completely calm, it’s not with life as an effort that you do it. But when you get into the game, you want to be involved as long as possible, he says.
No challenge to keep it a secret from the family
The people who will be most surprised that he is on the show think he is the family. But keeping it a secret from them was not exactly a challenge, he believes.
– I work in the evenings and nobody is at home during the day, everyone has work and school. I’ve been lucky in the way that no one asks where I am during the day, says Markus.
– Tomorrow is Good Friday and then I will try to make sure the TV is on at home. I don’t usually stay at home and watch TV that often in the evenings because I work then, but tomorrow, he continues.
All in all, he describes his participation as fantastic, mainly thanks to everyone around him.
– I really pay tribute to the people around, the whole production was so professional and talented. It has been easy to be a part of it. Cool experience!
