Life imprisonment was requested Monday against Monique Olivier, ex-wife of the rapist and serial killer Michel Fourniret, tried since November 28 by the Hauts-de-Seine Assize Court for complicity in the kidnappings and murders of Marie-Angèle Domèce, Joanna Parrish and Estelle Mouzin.

“ In view of the exceptional seriousness of the acts committed, the necessary protection of society », the two attorneys general also requested that the sentence be accompanied by a security period of 22 years.
Before the Hauts-de-Seine Assize Court, the magistrates asked for more than two hours. They recalled the “ vicissitudes » of the three judicial investigations opened for each of the crimes tried: the kidnappings and murders of two young women, Marie-Angèle Domèce in 1988 and Joanna Parrish in 1990, and of a nine-year-old child, Estelle Mouzin, in 2003.
Contrary to the image of victim presented by Monique Olivier throughout her trial, the prosecution recalled the choices made by Fourniret’s ex-wife: putting Marie-Angèle Domèce and Joanna Parrish in confidence knowing that they were going straight to death, to remain silent for 16 years about Estelle Mouzin.
Verdict delivered Tuesday
“ Ms. Olivier, you are not an accomplice at that moment, you are the author of the choice to remain silent », noted general counsel Stéphanie Pottier. “ Without her, (Michel Fourniret) do not commit these crimes. With her, he succeeds », asserted the other general advocate, Hugues Julié. “ The accomplice is the ally, the one who is closely linked to the perpetrator, in this case before you today, it is the wife of the serial killer “, he continued.
“ It is the maximum sentence that was requested because the crimes committed justify it, for me the prosecution’s requisitions are in line with what the families of the victims that I represent were asking for. », Commented Me Didier Seban, lawyer for the Parrish and Mouzin families.
After three weeks of debate, the floor will be given this Monday afternoon to the defense, then the last word will go to the accused, if she wishes to speak. The verdict will be delivered tomorrow Tuesday.
