The Liberals want to introduce relapse supplement for repeated crimes

The Liberals want to see stricter penalties for recidivism criminals and propose a relapse allowance that gives at least one third longer penalties in the event of repeated crimes.
The party believes that today’s punishment means that many people quickly return to crimes after serving sentence, and now they want to put a stop to it.
– We have too few additions for people who commit serious crimes time and time again, says Johan Pehrson, party leader for the Liberals.

The Liberals want those who relapse in crime to have a clearer penalty supplement than today. Their party leader Johan Pehrson criticizes that the person who commits several crimes receive a penalty, and that the person who returns in crime is not more clearly punished for the repeated crime.

– There are people who have completely chosen to stand outside society and who live on crime. As soon as they come out of prison, almost at once, they too often choose to go straight back and commit new violent crimes, says Johan Pehrson (L).

Believes in support from other time parties

Johan Pehrson believes that the Liberals have good conditions to bring the other three time parties on the train. He emphasizes that a large part of the serious crime is carried out by persons who repeatedly return to crime, and that harsher punishment for repeated offenses is therefore necessary.

In parallel with the relapse supplement, the party wants to invest in rehabilitation for those who want to leave the criminal track. But according to Johan Pehrson, tougher consequences are needed for those who do not.

– Then you have to take the consequences of it and then there will be longer punishment, he says.
