The Swedish national team was filled with great players during the 90s.
And now the legendary Tomas Brolin has named who he thought was the very best.
– He had everything, says Brolin.
There is no doubt that Tomas Brolin is one of Sweden’s greatest footballers of all time. He became a real icon during the 90s and celebrated great success with the national team and club team Parma.
He is the best according to Brolin
The WC bronze from 1994 is of course the biggest. Tomas Brolin was truly one of the great standard bearers who led Sweden all the way to a bronze medal match with his eminent play and three goals.
But the historic WC bronze should of course not only go to Tomas Brolin. There were several really big players in Sweden during the 90s. Martin Dahlin, Stefan Schwarz, Jonas Thern, Joachim Björklund to name just a few.
Now Tomas Brolin, on the other hand, has named who he thought was the very best during his time in the national team, and the legend’s answer is really not a high-profile one.
“I think so”
– I thought Jonas Thern was good. He was the hub in some damn way. He was good both forward and backward and you got passes where you should have them as a forward and he had a hell of a brain, says Tomas Brolin in the Tutto Balutto podcast.
– He had everything?, asks presenter Gusten Dahlin.
– I think so, says the legendary Brolin.
Tomas Brolin also mentions more players who impressed him during his football career. And of course they all played in Parma.
– There were many in Parma, but I say this then. Goalkeeper Buffon. Back: Thuram and Zola up there.
