In March, the IOC ethics commission investigated Isinbayeva’s membership, with the aim of stopping people who supported the war in Ukraine or had links to the Russian military.
“All the necessary work has been carried out to the satisfaction of the ethics commission,” said IOC spokesman Mark Adams, without clarifying whether Isinbayeva resigned her army rank or not, at a press conference on Wednesday.
Isinbajeva, who still holds the world record in the pole vault with 5.06, also sits on the IOC’s active committee together with Frida Hansdotter, among others.
