Region Stockholm pays care for a lump sum per Stockholm patient they have listed with them. This compensation also includes digital healthcare contacts. Nevertheless, Kry and Doktor.se have paid extra when the same listed patients sought care digitally, by utilizing the foreign tariff.
If you are written in Stockholm, but are looking for care at a health center in another region, your care visit will cost the Stockholm Stockholm extra. The region pays compensation to the second region for the care contact, so -called foreign compensation. A large part of digital care is also covered by this system, as several digital healthcare providers have agreements with a health center in Sörmland.
The double invoicing costs Stockholm’s taxpayers millions, says Region Stockholm. Therefore, the region recently issued a repayment requirement against KRY, at SEK 48.3 million, and Doktor.se of 10.4 million. The requirements apply to care visits between January 1, 2024 and February 28, 2025.
V Police reports: “Request the money back insufficiently”
The Left Party in the region is now even harder.
– Requesting the money back is insufficient, which is why we report the police. KRY has systematically deceived Region Stockholm of millions of kronor. There is no single mistake they have committed, says Jonas Lindberg (V), opposition region council for the Left Party in the Stockholm Region, in a press release.
However, Kry does not share the politicians’ image.
“It is wrong, KRY has not double registered any patient and we have an ongoing dialogue with Region Stockholm. Access to Care at KRY reduces the total costs for society and is described by many of our patients as the only healthcare they can reach. We offer our patients access to care 24 hours per day, all day of the year.
Doctor.se also responds to e -mails:
“The fact that Stockholm chooses not to have a functional digital care that they pay for can legally not prevent a resident of Stockholm from applying for a region where the digital care is located. The digital care we offer in Sörmland has other accessibility, wider range and longer opening hours than the Stockholm offering.
