The leader of the French Republican Party, Éric Ciotti, is forced to leave his post.

This after a vote in the party board which decided to exclude him from the party, reports BFMTV.

The announcement comes after Éric Ciotti said he wants to form an alliance with Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party ahead of the recently announced parliamentary elections.

Earlier today, several media reported that Éric Ciotti had closed down the party’s headquarters in Paris.
