“The last pictures we’ll ever see of Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll”

The last pictures well ever see of Ray Stevensons Baylan

A few hours ago, the finale of Ahsoka was released on Disney+. The Star Wars series has accompanied us over the past few weeks and has now delivered a finale that is both spectacular and touching. Especially in the final moments of the episode, series creator Dave Filoni relies on strong emotions.

The Ahsoka finale is touching not only because of the story it tells: it is also the last time we see Ray Stevenson in the role of former Jedi Baylan Skoll see who appeared as the antagonist of Ahsoka and Co. over the course of the eight episodes. The British actor died in Italy in May of this year.

“The last pictures we’ll ever see of Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll” – these words hurt. Although Baylan no longer plays a major role in the Ahsoka finale, Filoni gives the character and its actor one last strong moment that will not disappear from the memory of Star Wars fans any time soon.

The Star Wars fandom has rarely fallen in love with a new character as quickly as with Baylan Skoll. Saying goodbye to Ray Stevenson is even more difficult.

The Ahsoka finale was phenomenal, but nothing was more heartbreaking than seeing the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan for the last time. It’s depressing to know that we won’t get another performance from him. Mainly because of his figure still so much potential has in itself, especially after this cliffhanger. No one will ever match the convincing power of your performance. Thank you for taking us on this incredible journey. Rest in peace, Ray Stevenson.

Stevenson had many memorable scenes with co-star Ivanna Sakhno. She says goodbye on Instagram with the words: “To my friend Ray. Forever your wolf.” Sakhno portrayed Baylan Skoll’s student, Shin Hati, in Ahsoka.

The Ahsoka finale has a fairly open ending. Both Baylan’s story and Shin’s story are ongoing. So far, however, there is no official announcement as to whether the character Baylan will be recast for future seasons or other Star Wars projects.

After the Ahsoka finale: An appearance from Ray Stevenson is still coming

The 8th episode of Ahsoka marks Stevenson’s final appearance in the Star Wars universe. However, this is not his very last role in front of the camera. Before his death, he made the Hungarian action film 1242: Gateway To The West, which takes place in 13th century Europe and is released posthumously.

When Stevenson died, he was also in the middle of filming Cassino in Ischia. But he won’t appear in this film again. In July it was announced that Dominic Purcell, of Prison Break fame, would take over Stevenson’s role. The film tells the story of an aging action star who wants to score one last hit.
