With the 1st season of The Last of Us HBO gave us one of the best series experiences of recent years. The adaptation of the video game of the same name, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, can now look forward to a second season. After the first pictures of the new episodes were released a few days ago, we can now expect more exciting news from the zombie apocalypse.

Jeffrey Wright will reprise his role from The Last of Us games in Season 2
This is how Jeffrey Wright will be seen in the new episodes alongside Ramsey and Pascal. The actor is known from films such as The Batman, The Hunger Games series and the James Bond films with Daniel Craig and has gained high-profile series experience with Marvel’s What If…? and Westworld. Just this year, Wright was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor in the tragicomedy American Fiction.

The Last of Us fans also know the actor from the second video game, in which Wright played the role Isaac not only lent his voice, but also embodied it using motion capture. He will now once again take on the role of Isaac for the HBO series – and this time he will be seen in full. According to Variety, the official role description states:
A quiet but powerful leader of a large military groupwho sought freedom but instead found themselves stuck in a war against a surprisingly unruly enemy.
In addition to Jeffrey Wright, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna is currently in front of the camera as Joel’s brother Tommy, Rutina Wesley as his wife Maria, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen and Danny Ramirez as Manny for season 2. Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice) is also in the new episodes in an as yet unknown role.
When is The Last of Us Season 2 coming?
The new episodes are 2025 on HBO. Since the first season was shown here on Sky and WOW, the second season of The Last of Us can also be expected to be broadcast there.
