The Last of Us proves why it’s going to be the best horror series of 2023 in a new trailer

With the end of the year not only the holidays approaching, but also a date that horror fans have been looking forward to for ages: the launch of The Last of Us. In the series, smuggler Joel (Pedro Pascal) and teenage girl Ellie (Bella Ramsey) fight their way through one End time world full of zombie-like undeadwho have lost their humanity through a fungal infection.

The story is based on award-winning The Last of Us video game seriesdeveloped by Naughty Dog for the Playstation.

The Last of Us launch is fast approaching and finally there’s a proper trailer

The HBO series will premiere in Germany on January 16 and can be streamed on Sky or WOW in this country. After months where fans short video teasers and stills analyzed to death, there is now the first real trailer.

In two and a half minutes, we don’t just get to see more of Ellie and Joel here. The trailer also gives us a chillingly good look at the infected and key characters that many will recognize from the video games. Brutal, highly emotional and still with the desperate wit that made the Playstation games so wonderfully human.

With Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson we now also get to see the people for the first time Joel and Ellie in the game template brought to life. It had long been clear that the two would get guest roles in the series adaptation of The Last of Us.
