If you don’t want to look into the past of the sci-fi franchise with prequels like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, but are more interested in the future, you have the opportunity to do so with Star Trek: Picard. The most popular of all Trek series, Star Trek: The Next Century, was continued for three seasons.
The 3rd and final season of Star Trek: Picard can be seen on German TV for the first time from today. It includes a reunion with many fan favorites and what is believed to be the last flight of the USS Enterprise-D.
Star Trek: Picard Season 3 – That’s what the sci-fi final season is about
Admiral Picard (Patrick Stewart) receives an urgent distress call from his Enterprise crew’s former ship’s doctor: Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). She’s in space trouble with her son Jack (Ed Speleers) and needs help from her ex-captain. Together with Captain Riker (Jonathan Frakes), then still a commander, the old friends rush to the rescue and first board the USS Titan. The ship of the gruff Captain Shaw (Todd Stashwick) also counts Seven of Nine among the crew, who defy her superior’s orders to help the admiral.
Unlike seasons 1 and 2 of Star Trek: Picard, with which they tried something completely new, season 3 from showrunner Terry Matalas (Twelve Monkeys) goes all out Fan service and nostalgic recognition value. In addition to numerous former Enterprise-D crew members, there is a reunion with Data’s evil brother Lore (also Brent Spiner), holodeck character Professor Moriarty (Daniel Davis), Mr. Chekov (Walter Koenig) and the Borg Queen Star Trek 8 (Alice Krige).
As far as the story goes, there is one Shapeshifter Conspiracy in the Federation uncover and uncover the secret behind Dr. Crusher’s son Jack. He also has to be protected from the bounty hunter Vadic (Amanda Plummer), who comes with her spaceship shrike hunts him down.
When and where can Star Trek: Picard be seen on TV?
TELE 5 is showing the Picard final season Monday, December 2, 2024 at 8:15 p.m – in double episodes, so that you get something out of it for five weeks. Alternatively, you can also stream the ten final episodes of the Star Trek series on Paramount+.
Additionally, since the finale, fans have been hoping for another spin-off with the proposed title Star Trek: Legacy. This would revolve around missions from the USS Enterprise-G.
