The last day in the Malmö trial – Sweden news

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

On Thursday, the last day of the trial began where an 18-year-old stands accused of murdering two teachers at Malmö Latin School.

At 10.45, the Malmö District Court will announce whether or not the 18-year-old will undergo a major forensic psychiatric examination.

It was on March 21 that the 18-year-old masked himself and attacked two randomly selected teachers with an ax and knife. He inflicted such severe injuries on both of them that they died. He then alerted the police himself. He has confessed to all the deeds and explains his actions by saying that he wanted to do a deed that was so horrible that everyone would afterwards distance themselves from him. He has called himself a monster several times.

Judge Johan Kvart begins by reading the minor forensic psychiatric examination, a so-called section seven examination, which was carried out by the 18-year-old. The investigation has concluded that it cannot be ruled out that he suffered from a serious mental disorder at the time of the act and that it is recommended that a major psychiatric examination be carried out before sentencing. After this, the prosecutor Johanna Liljeblad, the plaintiff’s assistants and the defenders made their pleas. At 10.13 the negotiations took a break and Johan Kvart announced that at 10.45 the court will announce whether the 18-year-old will undergo a major forensic psychiatric examination or not – before the penalty is determined. Prosecutor Johanna Liljeblad began her plea by summarizing what emerged during the trial. She describes it as a planned act that hit completely unprepared teachers.
