The largest cinema in the world has already taken in $75 million in 2 months and that’s no wonder considering the ticket prices

For the ultimate cinematic experience, you need to book plane tickets to Las Vegas. The tourist attraction in the American desert has been attracting visitors with the largest cinema in the world for around two months. The so-called Sphere is not yet designed for conventional films, but it offers two special attractions. Now the company is behind Sphere first sales figures disclosed.

Largest cinema in the world has taken in almost $100 million after two months

As the Hollywood Reporter reports, the Sphere has grossed over $75 million since opening on September 29, 2023. So far there are two main productions to be seen there: Postcard from Earth by Black Swan and The Whale director Darren Aronofsky, a 50-minute film Mixture of sci-fi story and nature documentary. The band U2 also performs in the Concert series U2: UV Warning Baby Live at Sphere for a total of 25 live shows in the giant cinema. They played 17 of them by November 30th.

With ticket prices for the Aronofsky spectacle ranging from $49 to $199 and even higher prices for the U2 performances, it’s no surprise that Sphere has already made so much money so far. According to founder James Dolan, the special location is scheduled to open in the current quarter generate profits until December 31, 2023.

The future of the largest cinema in the world is to be expanded

Dolan spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about the fact that more feature films will be shown at the Sphere in the future. So far, the huge format in the building is still so unusual that the films have to be tailored specifically to it.

The Sphere’s canvas measures 148,645 square meters, which corresponds to approximately four football fields. The resolution is 18k, while the gigantic image is surrounded by 167,000 speakers.
