the laptop with a solar panel to recharge

A laptop that recharges solar energy: this is an original and not so stupid concept that Lenovo has just presented on a prototype during the MWC 2025, the Mobility Fair in Barcelona.

Like every year, Lenovo takes advantage of the mobile World Congress (MWC), the large lounge which is currently standing in Barcelona, to present concepts imagined by its engineers. Last year, the brand had unveiled a laptop with a screen that can become completely transparent. Why not but the real utility remains to be demonstrated. Motorola, the other brand of the Chinese giant, had presented an wrapable screen, to be carried on the wrist like a bracelet.

This year, Lenovo persists, but this time with a concept that could well experience a commercial outcome. This is solar PC yoga. Behind its completely classic appearance of traditional laptop pc, hides the good idea: to integrate a solar panel into the hood of the device, on the outer part, naturally exposed to light.

Thus equipped, this laptop allows, according to Lenovo to recover up to an hour of autonomy in video reading by leaving the device for about twenty minutes exposed to sunlight, behind a window (with sunny weather however). Rather not bad and above all very practical for those who spend their time vading away from an electrical outlet. An app even allows you to know at any time consumption and the level of load provided by solar panels.

Under the hood, it remains very classic. The computer is driven by an Intel processor from the Core Ultra 2 series, can embark up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage and has a 14 -inch OLED screen. And if we do not know the capacity of the battery, we are however reassured by the weight of the machine which remains controlled with 1.22 kg.

The Solar PC yoga remains for the moment in the concept state. But given his assets, we would not be surprised to see him disembark on the shelves in the coming year.
