In The land of womenadaptation of Sandra Barneda’s best-seller, the actress will star opposite Carmen Maura, made famous by the films of Pedro Almodovar (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Volver). The six episodes of the series, filmed in English and Spanish, retrace the flight of a New Yorker, forced to go into exile in a small village in Spain with her mother and daughter.

After discovering that her husband had involved the entire family in financial embezzlement, Gala no longer has a choice: she must leave New York with her mother and daughter. To escape the dangerous criminals who are after them, the three women hope to find refuge in a small wine-growing village in northern Spain, which Gala’s mother had fled 50 years previously, swearing never to set foot there again. But this return to basics does not go as planned since rumors revealing certain family secrets begin to circulate…
