The knifeman outside Haga castle in the trial

The trial against it begins today 35-year-old man from Portugal who was arrested outside Haga Castle on the fourth of December.
In the man’s bag, the police found, among other things, street fighting weapons, knives and handcuffs – something that the 35-year-old claims he brought with him for a romantic party.
– Ordinary fun things for people who like magic, he says in the trial.

The man is charged with a serious crime against the Knife Act and has been in custody since the fourth of December when he was arrested outside Haga Castle, where Crown Princess Victoria and her family live.

“A man calls the intercom and wants to speak to the Crown Princess. The castle guard describes the man as strange. The castle guard is talking to the man who is very interested in the security around the castle and would like to hand over documents to the crown princess,” say the police in the preliminary investigation.

“Wanted for a romantic party”

When the man was arrested, the police found several items on him, including street fighting weapons, knives, handcuffs and other criminal aids “with which serious bodily harm can be inflicted”, the preliminary investigation states. He also had a soft air gun, a spray can and a lighter.

During the trial, the man himself claimed that this would be used during a romantic party he was going to later in the evening.

– Then they found some things that I had with me, some of which I would have for a romantic party later.

He also said that he brought party supplies and confetti and that some of the items would be used in fantasy role-playing games.

– Regular fun stuff for people who like magic.

– Fantasy stuff, made up stuff for role playing.

Stated that he wanted to warn the Crown Princess

In the preliminary investigation, the man stated that he knows the crown princess and was there to warn her that someone wants her badly.

“Yes, and it was in Portugal a few years ago when I was invited and got to know them, but that’s nothing I can confirm. The meeting was about the security of the Kingdom of Sweden in Portugal. I shouldn’t have said that, it’s outside of this investigation, I regret saying that,” the man told the interrogators.

But when during the trial he was asked about the royal family, he did not want to answer.

– I am not going to comment on that.
