The ten-year-old girl was left badly stabbed outside in Ängelholm.
A passerby found the child and, according to the police, saved her life.
– He was very good and really took care of her, says a witness who helped.
The murder occurred at 5pm near a school in Ängelholm on Monday.
A private person, a man, saw the bloodied ten-year-old girl and immediately started first aid before carrying her to a nearby villa. TV4 Nyheterna has spoken to the residents where the man knocked.
– The doorbell rang and I told my husband to open it because I was in the kitchen. Then he went and opened it and there was a girl lying down on our stairs and a man was sitting and holding her and said that there is an injury in the back with a knife. “Can you call 112 because I don’t have a mobile phone,” he said, says the woman who lives at the address and does not want to be named.
The residents called SOS Alarm and took instructions from the operator. The woman also ran at the same time and got towels to try to stop the bleeding.
The witness: It was life-changing
– She was injured and there was a lot of blood. She almost wanted to fall asleep but the man who was here was absolutely amazing, he patted her on the cheeks and said “you mustn’t fall asleep”. He got towels from me which he kept behind his back. Because they said that when I called, stop the blood.
What do you say about the man’s effort?
– He was very, very good. He was great and really took care of her. It was life-changing, he did a lot, says the woman.
The residents are taken by the incident.
– It’s very sad and horrible, it’s our residential area and a little ten-year-old girl… what kind of motive is it? It’s not fun. I’ve actually been to the gym to clear my mind and think about something else and it was probably pretty good.
Today, the police went out to a press conference and paid tribute to the man.
– The man who found the girl probably saved the girl’s life together with the ambulance staff, said Christian Nordin, local police area manager in Ängelholm.
A 34-year-old woman is under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder. According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, she was arrested by chance and had a bloody knife on her. She is also being investigated for unprovoked attacks on four other children.
