In the so-called Sweden House in Paris, many fans gathered when Sjöström received Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia’s tribute.
– Now we have two queens on the podium, exclaimed the King on stage.
Sarah Sjöström received a bouquet of flowers and applause from the royal couple and from Minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD), who was also present.
– The medals mean an incredible amount. It’s very cool to win double gold at my fifth Olympics. I really didn’t think this would be my best, says Sarah Sjöström to TV4 after the tribute.
– When I thought it couldn’t get better, I’ve only gotten better year after year after year, it’s very cool, Sjöström continues.
The Olympic queen is already saying that she is betting on being at the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
– LA, I really see in front of me that I will show up in, but it will be a little more quiet trip until then, says Sarah Sjöström.
On Sunday, Sarah Sjöström won her second Olympic gold in four days in Paris. She is now Olympic champion in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle.
