The number of shoplifting incidents has increased by 14 percent so far this year. Most often, it is meat that is stolen, according to Swedish Trade. In Skellefteå, several stores have been affected recently.
– It is an enormously big problem, it has escalated after the summer and has really hit the roof. It is everyday that we have problems with theft, says Pär Sjöström, who owns ICA Supermarket in Skellefteå.
