the killer, a young school and social dropout

new mass shooting in the United States

The United States is still in shock after the mass shooting at a Texas elementary school. 19 children and two adults lost their lives after an 18-year-old boy opened fire in a classroom on Tuesday morning May 24. No concrete element appeared on the mobile of the killer. Salvador Ramos was still enrolled in high school, but he was conflicted with his family and dropping out of school, authorities said.

It was the day after his 18th birthday, on May 17, that Salvador Ramos bought his first weapon. The next day, he buys over 300 cartridges and a second assault rifle a few days later. It was equipped with his arsenal and a bulletproof vest that the young man sowed terror and death in a school in Uvalde, the town in Texas where he grew up.

Before going to school, Salvador Ramos shoots his own grandmother where he was staying after having argued with his mother. According to US police and media, the shooter was not attending his high school where he was being bullied because of his stutter. After buying the weapons, the young man poses on social networks with his arsenal.

On the day of the killing, he sends private messages on Facebook in which he announces his intention to kill his grandmother, then to open fire in the school. But at no time does he give reasons for his actions. Out of school and socially, fascinated by weapons and in conflict with his family: Salvador Ramos offered a similar profile to several perpetrators of school massacres, perpetrated in recent years in the United States.
