A police patrol that was supposed to drive home a drunk person in Linköping during the night of Saturday encountered unexpected problems, writes Corren.
The person, who was taken into custody and was to be dropped off at the home address, was handcuffed.
But when the police were about to loosen the shackles, something went wrong – and the key went off.
The drama came to an end after the fire brigade also had to move out.
– Yes, this was almost a little deadly. But in the end the emergency services came and got the handcuffs off. They have a little stronger stuff than we do, says Jonas Wallin, commander at the police command center, to the newspaper.
