Kärppie’s first-court defender Dominik Masin has been suspended for four matches.
The league’s disciplinary delegation has ordered Kärppien To Dominik Masin a four-match ban for the situation that happened in the JYP–Kärpät match on Friday.
According to Tilannehuone’s report, Masi and JYP’s player Nathan Schnarr leaned in at the end of the second period, when the Kärppä defender fell into a dangerous act.
When the situation had already calmed down, Masin poked Schnarr in the head with his glove and caused his head to swing and the back of his head to hit the ice.
The disciplinary committee states that Masin’s pushing the head of an opponent without a helmet is a “cheap shot”, i.e. a sloppy hit, in which the opponent’s player is recklessly and cheaply endangered.
Masin agreed to play against Ässi already on Saturday, so he is suspended for the Kärppi’s next three games.
