US ex-president Donald Trump is convicted on all 34 counts of accounting crimes he was charged with. Immediately afterwards, Trump commented on the decision – which he calls “a disgrace”.
– This is a rigged trial, he says.
The former president has always denied any wrongdoing and believes that the trial was politically motivated.
– We will fight to the end and we will win.
Ordered secret payments
The penalty will be announced on July 11.
According to the jury, he ordered payments to silence the porn star after an alleged sexual encounter. Additional payments are said to have been made to people who threatened to leak “sensitive information”.
The payments are said to have been made during his 2016 presidential campaign and then booked as legal expenses.
Over 20 people have testified in the trial.
