The cargo ship Ruby, carrying a dangerous cargo of fertilizer, is still at a standstill south of Norway. The journey of the damaged ship towards the Baltic Sea has been canceled at least for the time being.
Yesterday it was reported that a pilot had been ordered from Denmark for the ship. The pilot was supposed to pilot it through the Ison-Belt strait to the Baltic Sea during the weekend.
The Danish pilotage companies tell the news agency Ritzau, among other things, that there is no valid order for a pilot on board.
The Danish Maritime Authority says for Danish TV2that Ruby’s shipping company has ordered the ship to stop south of Norway and not to continue its journey to Lithuania.
The maritime authority says in its statement that the shipping company is investigating the possibilities of unloading Ruby’s fertilizer cargo at an approved location.
Marinetraffic service according to Ruby has been stopped off the southern coast of Norway since Friday evening. Its destination has been announced as Lithuania, which has already banned the ship from entering the country.
