Italian FIlippo Zana (Jayco AlUla) won the 18th stage of the Tour of Italy by winning the sprint ahead of Frenchman Thibaut Pinot on Thursday May 25 at the top of Val di Zoldo. The two men had come out of a long breakaway of seven runners in which two other Frenchmen appeared, Warren Barguil, third, and Aurélien Paret-Peintre. Already second in the Crans Montana stage, Pinot once again failed to win for his last Giro. Briton Geraint Thomas remains in pink, while Primoz Roglic takes second place at 29 seconds. The Portuguese João Almeida completed the podium in the general classification, 39 seconds behind Thomas.
