The jihadist group Islamic State (IS) announced, this Thursday, August 3, in an audio recording posted on Telegram the death of its leader, Abu Al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurachi, killed during clashes with the jihadist formation Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, in northwestern Syria.
He was killed “after a direct confrontation (…) in one of the localities of the province of Idleb” with HTS, a former local branch of Al-Qaeda, which was trying to capture him, said the door- word of IS, in a voice recording published on one of the group’s Telegram channels, without specifying either the exact place or the date of his death.
