It is still not clear what caused the serious diving accident in Gullmarsfjorden outside Uddevalla on Sunday. A Danish man in his 55s died and a Swedish man in his 50s is missing.

– We have not received very clear pictures of what has happened. The divers’ equipment has been sent away for investigation, but we have not received any answers yet, says the preliminary investigation leader Jacob Hellåker to TT.

There were three men who dived at a depth of 90 meters in Gullmarsfjorden. Something went wrong and one of the divers came up to the surface and sounded the alarm. The surviving diver has been heard by the police, but does not want to say what he said.

– Since the preliminary investigation is ongoing, I can not say anything about it. We also have several other people to be heard, says Hellåker.

The Maritime Police will begin the search for the missing diver on Wednesday.
