Clever, technical or unexpected, the inventions selected for the Lépine competition always hold surprises. Once again, they attracted the curious during the 2022 edition of the competition, during the Paris Fair. Find a selection of innovations to discover during this new vintage.
Invented in 1901 by Prefect Lépine with a view to revitalizing Parisian craftsmanship, which is losing ground in the face of foreign competition, the Lepine contest has since become an unmissable event to discover the latest French inventions and the creations of international delegations. From the most clever to the most whimsical, innovations are of all kinds, five categories still allow you to find your way around: connected universe, nature and art of living, health and new technologies, transport and industry and the World invents (delegation of foreign countries). Since the first edition, many inventions have gone through the Lépine competition and have since become everyday objects. The first models of washer, the first ballpoint pen, the first vacuum cleanerthe first typical construction game “Mecano”, the first airplane models Where the first solar-powered electric bicycle were presented to the general public during one edition of the competition.
Since 1929, this competition has been organized within the framework of the Paris fair. It is intended for any person, natural or legal, whose inventive activity, principal or secondary, relates to creation. Its purpose is to promote invention and support inventors. A real springboard, being recognized and awarded at the Lépine competition allows inventions to gain notoriety and inventors to carry out their project. More than 300 inventions are honored in Pavilion 1 of the Portes de Versailles Exhibition Center. The verdict of the competition jury is expected on Sunday May 8 at 7:30 p.m.
