Since mid-July, a female influencer in her 30s has been detained in the Stockholm area. The influencer has appeared in a famous reality show, and on Instagram she has hundreds of thousands of followers.

But now her everyday life is completely different. She is suspected on probable grounds of money laundering, a serious crime.

The prosecutor’s office believes that there is a risk that she could continue her criminal activities, remove evidence or complicate the investigation in other ways. Therefore, she is in custody with restrictions.

The investigation surrounding the detained influencer is linked to serious organized crime and the gang environment.

In both prison and remand, daily routines are followed. What they look like can vary somewhat, but the most common thing is that a wake-up call takes place at 08:00 in the morning.

Then correctional officers unlock the room, and the inmate can go to the toilet and then eat breakfast in his room.

The probation officer Hannah, who works in a detention center in Östersund, has in a video on the website of the Prison and Probation Service talked about what it can look like for someone with restrictions.

– Many who sit with us have restrictions, and then you are locked in your living room most of the day. You cannot choose for yourself when to shower, walk, exercise or do anything else you want to do, says the correctional officer in the video.

At 10.00 the inmate has the opportunity to exercise a little. Those with restrictions may not be allowed to exercise with other inmates, but may then exercise with only correctional officers in the room.

At 11.30 lunch is served, it is “ordinary home cooking” on the menu, the Prison Service writes on its website.

When the American rapper ASAP Rocky detained in Stockholm in July 2019, everything from cowboy soup, fish gratin, spinach soup with eggs, chicken fillet, Wallenberg and turkey was served that week.

But the rapper said that “the food was inedible” and that “the water was not clean”, something like News24 then reported on. In addition, the internationally known rapper complained that a mentally ill inmate in the room next to him was “banging his head on the wall” and “throwing poo”.

“Covered” walks and work in a Swedish prison

After lunch, around 12.00, the detainee is entitled to an hour’s walk. If the detainee has restrictions, he can go to the promenade by himself. In the detention center, all walking areas are covered so that others cannot throw in mobile phones, drugs or letters, writes the Prison Service.

At 2 p.m. it’s time for work. The inmate can, for example, pack and sort things, clean or attend a course.

In the evening, around 6 p.m., the detainee has the opportunity to speak on the phone with his lawyer. Those who are detained with restrictions may not receive visitors or talk on the phone with relatives and friends. However, he can talk to his lawyer.

After the conversation, it’s time for dinner, then the detainee can watch some TV or read for a while.

At 20.00 it is locked. If the detainee needs to go to the toilet, he can call a correctional officer as there is no toilet in the room, writes Correctional Service.
