The influencer Sara Dahlstrom is dead she was 31

It was during Thursday that the tragic news reached the public – the influencer Sara Dahlström has passed away, aged 31.

Sara was editor-in-chief of the magazine “Hälsa & fitness”

In recent years, Sara has worked as editor-in-chief at the magazine “Hälsa & fitness” as well as as an influencer, where she has pulled a big load in body activism.

Her Instagram account Fitnessfeministen is followed today by 43,500 people who daily follow her inspiring advice on exercise, lovely bath videos and pictures of wine and good food.

Suffered from a brain tumor as a 17-year-old

When Sara was 17 years old, doctors discovered a brain tumor on Sara after she suffered from vision problems and severe headaches.

– The tumor was on the pituitary gland, and it is a part of the brain that controls all hormones. When it was surgically removed, it meant that I no longer had normal hormone production, Sara told the podcast a couple of years ago “In the name of truth”.

– Everyone thinks that you are unhealthy when you are fat. But I train hard, lift heavy and love to train. And despite that, you often get mean comments about your body. This made me try to slim down and to maintain that weight I could barely eat anything. Finally I decided that I can’t live like that. And I intend to encourage others not to live like that either, she continued.

Sara’s father about daughter: “Fought to the end”

Sara has been praised and won awards in many contexts for her commitment to body positivity and exercise and health.

About six months ago, Sara suffered from epilepsy as a result of the operation that was done in her teens.

“Despite chronic fatigue and additional strong medications, she fought on until the end, but
the body was too weak,” writes her father, Mats Dahlströmin another email News24.

Sara was a role model for many

He also says that Sara lived so that people should not look negatively at their body, but look positively at what it is capable of.

“She lived so that you shouldn’t look so negatively at your body, but instead look positively at how much you can do with it. For example, lift heavy. She received tons of thanks from girls who thanked her for finally putting on weight bathing suit and dared to go to the beach again,” he writes.

He also says that Sara felt at her very best when she got to spend time with her sisters and nieces.

“They loved their colorful positive fighter of an aunt,” Mats Dahlström concludes the email.
