His name is Jonathan Kikanga and it is a name to remember. At 18, this young man of Congolese origin has just obtained the validation of all his wishes, 25 in total, unheard of, on the Parcoursup platform which manages the orientation of French high school students in higher education.
Jonathan Kikanga has come a long way, very far. Out of school during the college years, from 6th to 3rd, when his mother died, he has no family to take care of him. A friend offers him to join a potential father who would live in Angola. Abandoned by the latter, he decides to try his luck elsewhere, and it will be France.
In June 2019, he arrived in Paris. Illegal immigrant. He then left for the provinces. Destination: Brest, in the west of France. A difficult period during which he finds himself on the street.
Flawless course
He is only 15 years old. But a chance opens up to him. Jonathan meets the MWOwhich takes care of young unaccompanied foreign minors.
This association of volunteers entrusts him to a host family, and here he is back on the school benches. Jonathan integrates a technological branch in a high school, where he excels in scientific subjects. It is then a faultless course. The high school student has just won his baccalaureate with flying colors, and will finally be able to realize his dream.
He applied for a DRC passport. He will indeed need papers to continue his studies in an engineering school in Lyon.
