Gabriel Landeskog has brought home the Stanley Cup to Stockholm.
When the images, with the trophy over the capital, reach North America, fans can’t stop smiling.
“This is so beautiful,” writes a supporter on Reddit.
Gabriel Landeskog has become a proper icon in Colorado. The Swede joined the organization ahead of the 2011/2012 season, and scored 52 points in his first year.
The first time in his career
Two years later, Landeskog would become historic. After the 2012/13 lockout season, he became the new captain of the organization – as the youngest ever in NHL history.
It has almost been ten years since the Swede received the honorable assignment, and he has really helped build the Colorado Avalanche into a truly top team in the world’s best hockey league.
And this season, Gabriel Landeskog really paid off for the hard work he has put in over the past few years. The Swede finally got to lift the Stanley Cup trophy, his first in his career.
The tributes to Landeskog
In addition to his strong leadership both on and off the ice, was a huge contributor to the scoring record. When the season was over, Landeskog was listed for a total of 81 points, and could proudly raise the trophy to the sky.
It’s been a little over a month since the victory, and this week Gabriel Landeskog finally got to take the dent home to Stockholm – where he grew up.
And the pictures of the Swede raising the trophy, with Stockholm as a background, have reached North America – and the fans can’t stop smiling at the portraits at Landeskog.
“It’s unfair how handsome and successful he (Gabriel Landeskog) is,” writes a supporter on Reddit.
“It’s always so cool to see the players with the trophy in other countries,” writes another.
