The incredible fact about Lotta Harala is finally getting new – these Finns can still grab a place in the World Cup at the Kaleva Games

Lotta Harala who is aiming for a place in the

At the Kaleva Games, many Finnish athletes still have a seam to improve their settings for the World Championships. A full representation of three athletes can be seen in the women’s triple jump, starred by Kristiina Mäkelä.

At the Kaleva Games in Lahti, of course, you will be fighting for WC medals, but for many Finns, the games are also the last place to watch the World Championships in Budapest. At last year’s World Championships in Oregon, the team had 36 athletes.

The Budapest team can also accommodate more than 30 athletes. Ten athletes have broken the competition line, but the majority of the Finnish team is formed through the ranking.

About 15 Finnish athletes are currently firmly in the World Cup place through the ranking. In addition to them, there are several athletes who are either barely inside the ranking or slightly outside of it.

Big ranking points are expected from the Kaleva Games. A good result also improves the settings. This weekend, the national championships are also held in other countries, so the situation of the World Cup places is still very much alive.

– In the spring, the estimate is set at thirty. The final team will be determined by August 5, the general manager of the Finnish Sports Association Jani Tanskanen states.

Harala at last to the value races of outdoor tracks?

Interesting names include the triple jumper Jessica Kähäräa javelin thrower Anni-Linnea Alanen and a high-speed echo Lotta Haralafor whom the World Cup would be the first in their career.

During his long career, the 31-year-old Harala has never once been in the prestigious races on adult outdoor tracks. He has competed in EC halls before.

With Kähärä, Finland has a good chance of getting a full representation of three athletes in the women’s jumping race at the World Championships for the first time. Kristiina Mäkelä has breached the boundary and Senni Salminen is firmly within the ranking.

When thinking about the composition of the World Championships, Denmark is pleased with a wide range of sports. On the women’s side, there are several sports in which Finland can get a full trio. These include, among others, the stickleback, moukari and triple jump.

– We have such sports where the winners of the youth championships rise to a good level in the adult World Championships. A big team gives top performers a chance.

Strongly dependent on women

In Finnish athletics, the trend has long been that the body of the team consists of women. There will be 20 or more women in the Budapest team. There may very likely be half as many men.

There are several on the men’s side Lassi Etelätalo, Aku Partanen, Aleksi Ojalan mixed Raitanen’s top like value competition heroes.

A clear new, young yellow beak at the World Cup level is the European Championship winner for under-23s Juho Alasaari.

Are you worried about the men’s situation?

– Certainly there is a work gap at the level of the entire system, starting with the number of boys’ hobbyists and the development of young people towards the adult side. The men’s moukari has been moderately strong. The men’s javelin also has the prospect of a youth competition, Tanskanen says.

– There is a good age group going to the 19-year-old European Championships. We strive to support them. We certainly need more competitors on the boys’ side, Tanskanen adds.
