Now comes the most unexpected revelation about the Swedish star duo. Ebba Andersson and Armand Duplantis are related(!) to each other.

The newspaper Norran was the first to report the distant relative who was born 288 years ago and is the ancestor of both the skiing star and the pole vaulting giant. Per Larsson Vikberg was his name and lived in Innervik, Skellefteå, in the 18th century.
– I got a little goosebumps when I found the connection, says the genealogist Martin Karlsson for the local newspaper.

Ebba Andersson is still not too impressed by the connection to “Mondo”.
– If you start going back, we are all related to everyone, she says in the interview.
– It was new information for me. But you might have to do a lot more research, so you can see what you find and who you are actually related to.
