Food prices have skyrocketed.

Now Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson is calling the biggest food giants to her.

– It is unacceptable if there are players who raise prices unnecessarily, she tells TT.

Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson calls the food giants to her for discussion after the latest inflation figure, she tells TT.

In the past year, food prices have risen by 22.1 percent.

– Food is what contributes the most to increasing inflation. Therefore, I will now call the three major players to me to have a discussion with them about how we can keep prices down, says Svantesson.

The food market is dominated by ICA, Axfood and Coop, where ICA is clearly the largest.

– My message will be how we can keep prices down, how price trends can be moderated and have a conversation about the fact that none of these companies is fit to raise prices in this situation.

– It is unacceptable if there are players who raise prices unnecessarily.
