Sore throat is now the most common symptom reported by those who test positive for Covid, according to data from 17,500 people in the UK. Other prominent symptoms are headache, nasal congestion and cough. High fever and loss of smell/taste, which are at the top of the list of the National Health System (NHS) in England, are much rarer in recent patients than in the past. Hoarseness, sneezing, fatigue, muscle pain and dizziness are among the frequently reported symptoms.

The BBC confirmed that this picture is also consistent with other research.
According to the React-1 study, based on data from 150,000 randomly selected people in the UK, Kovid symptoms have changed since the beginning of the pandemic.
Scientists note that the reason for this may be the change or mutation of the virus over time.
Many variants of Kovid have appeared since the original Wuhan variant. Finally, the Omicron variant became the dominant strain.
React-1 researchers from Imperial College London noted that loss of smell and taste were the least common symptoms in this variant. Instead, patients reported more flu-like symptoms.
The BA.1 and BA.2 types of Omicron, which spread rapidly in March of this year, brought this change.
Two sub-variants of Omicron, BA.4 and BA.5, then came to dominate, increasing the rate of spread of the virus.
