the images of the PS5 exclusive have leaked it promises

It just fell! The Insomniac Games studio, to which we owe the Ratchet & Clank saga and the Spider-Man games on PlayStation, has just been the victim of piracy. And not a little since the authors in question were able to get their hands on personal documents of studio employees, but also images of the next Wolverine, normally expected for 2024 or 2025 on PS5. The pirates are demanding money and to prove that they have what it takes to blackmail the studio, they have made public 2 screenshots of the Wolverine game, which allow us to know what the game will look like. And it’s very promising!

Insomniac Games victim of hacking, this is indeed what happened a few hours ago and this is the Australian Cyber Daily site which was the first media to relay the information. In the article, we learn that it is the Rhysida group which is the author of this hack and the latter is simply demanding the sum of 2 million dollars so as not to compromise the information in their possession. Insomniac Games has 7 days to pay the sum or risk seeing confidential data spread on the Internet, and in particular elements on the game Wolverine, currently being developed within the studio. It must be said that this is the next big game from Insomanic Games which will arrive between 2024 and 2025 on PS5 if all goes well. We remember that the announcement was made in September 2021 during a PlayStation Showcase and nothing has happened since. It must be said that the studio is working hard, since in the meantime, the Californian developers have released the excellent Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

So there are 2 screenshots which were revealed by the Rhysida group, which I deliberately blurred, but what I can tell you is that the game looks very promising. Until now, we did not know what structure or formula this contemporary adaptation of Wolverine would take, and it seems that Insomniac Games has opted for the God of War reboot-style action game. We realize in fact that it will be a third-person action game with a camera extremely close to Logan’s character. In the two images, we see our The other image allows us to see our Wolverine with his superhero outfit, helmet on earth, with an outfit that echoes that of the first comic books with yellow but also a lot of brown. We imagine that Insomanic Games will customize the outfit to its own taste, as the studio did with Spider-Man in its games.

In the 2nd image, we see our superhero in a room with what seem to be elements that suggest that the game will offer us investigation features. This therefore announces varied gameplay, between violent and wild combat, exploration and a bit of investigation. Obviously, it’s sad to learn things this way, but one thing is certain, the hype is even crazier when you know what to expect with this title. In any case, the last time we had a Wolverine game in our hands was in 2009 during the PS3 and Xbox 360 era and the game was called X-Men Origins Wolverine, it was Activision which was released and given a score of 14/20.

Getting back to the hack itself, also included are scans of passports that belong to Insomniac employees, including at least one former employee who now works at Disney after being fired by the studio two months ago. Another personal document appears to belong to Yuri Lowenthal, the voice actor who lends his voice to Peter Parker in the original version. Other documents presented as evidence of hacking include internal emails and signed confidential documents. The Rhysida gang claims that Insomniac has seven days until the full data set is released, but is also currently holding an auction on the data, with a starting price of 50 bitcoins.

This is what Ryshidia says:
“With only 7 days on the clock, grab the opportunity to bid on exclusive, unique and awesome data. Open your wallets and get ready to buy exclusive data. We sell single hand only, no resale, you will be the sole owner!”

The Rhysida group claims to have compromised more than 60 companies since it began in May this year, including attacks on the British Library and King Edward VII Hospital in London. Obviously, this hack is reminiscent of what happened with Naughty Dog in May 2020 with The Last of Us 2 which saw entire passages of the game get spoiled, just like the multiplayer part, or even the 90 gameplay videos in a raw development version of GTA 6. In any case, we obviously do not condone and we know that this kind of story never ends well and often in court…
