The icon Lasse Björn is dead – the record holder was 92 years old and is now mourned in Swedish hockey

The legendary Lasse Björn has passed away.
He won nine SM gold with Djurgården and was 92 years old.
“We send our thoughts to family and relatives and remember an eternal Järnkamin,” writes Djurgården Hockey on its official website.

The hockey legend Lasse Björn has died after a period of illness, Djurgården announces on its website. He was 92 years old.

Björn is considered one of Djurgården’s very best players of all time. He played 18 seasons with the club and reaped great success.

In total, he won nine SM gold medals with the club. On its website, Djurgården writes:
“Together we remember a warm, strong and genuine animal keeper.”
