In Madagascar, the end-of-year holiday period is also synonymous with Christmas performances and concerts. Alongside songs from the traditional Malagasy repertoire, certain groups wanted to innovate. Like the Tananarivian choir ICanto which this year offered the oratorio “Messiah” by Georg Handel, a German composer naturalized British. Two concerts which took place in the Anglican Saint-Laurent Cathedral in Antananarivo and which were played in a packed church.
