Daniel Bertov was said to be leaving HV71.
Now he strikes back at all rumors.
– It’s damn bad, he says.
HV71 has just finished a season in the hockey allsvenskan. It was a short stay in the Swedish second division for the Jönköping club, which immediately bounced back to the SHL.
Join the journey up
The club won the entire basic series in a convincing way, and once qualifying matches were won, no one could beat HV71. They won the final series against Björklöven and secured an SHL contract for the 2022/23 season.
One player who took part in HV71’s journey in the hockey allsvenskan was defender Daniel Bertov. The 29-year-old also has a contract for next season, but earlier this week came information that the club has chosen to terminate the contract with him.
It is something that has caused Bertov to collapse, and the hill is now hitting back at the spread of rumors that is completely unfounded according to himself.
Furious at the information
– I do not know who wrote the article, but when similar information came a few weeks ago, I called my agent, the coaches and “Nubben” directly and no one said that it was true. I will play in HV71 next year, he says to Jönköpings-Posten according to Hockeysverige.
He continues:
– I think it is really bad acted by them actually. They get a few clicks on it but they’ve made my week a hell of a lot harder. I’m from Jönköping, so when I walk around town, many ask why I should not stay. But I’ll stay.
