The Huuver this drone that thinks its a tank

Equipped with tracks, the Huuver is able to roll over rough terrain and then take off thanks to its eight rotors. This hybrid drone is the result of cooperation between organizations from five European countries.

One of the weak points of drone is their autonomy. Hold the device in theair consumes a lot ofenergyand increasing the battery capacity makes it heavier and ultimately adds quite a bit of flight time. The Huover tries to solve this problem thanks to its ability to also move on the ground.

This is an international project with the participation of organizations from Poland, Austria, Finland, the Czech Republic, and Spain. the drone hybrid is equipped with tracks, placed around the rotors. Thus, the device does not need to transform, it lands directly on the tracks. This gives it the ability to move over rough terrain like a tank.

Autonomy multiplied by 30 on the ground

The Huuver weighs a total of 23 kilograms, and is 1.37 meters long. Switching between its two modes of locomotion allows it to multiply its autonomy by 30. It thus goes from a flight time of around 20 minutes to up to ten hours on the ground. the drone is also equipped with a Sony 4K optical camera, a thermal camera FLIR, from a positioning system Galileo and lidar. It can thus be remote controlled using a application mobile or programmed for autonomous flight.

This drone hybrid is primarily intended for professional uses such as rescue operations, surveillance and patrol missions, or even industrial uses. The teams indicated that they had started the marketing phase, after having completed the research and development phase. However, they have yet to give any information on the price and launch date.
