Iran -backed the Huthi movement again threatens important shipping routes outside Yemen, since Israel has not lifted the blockade of emergency assistance to Gaza.
“All Israeli vessels” traveling within the militant group’s reach are now seen as a target, announces the Huthi movement, which previously also attacked civilian vessels from other countries under similar warning.
The statement takes place after a four -day deadline that the Iran -supported group has issued Israel.
Israel introduced a block of relief to Gaza in early March since the first phase of the ceasefire with Hamas expired. The blockade is motivated by Israel by putting pressure on Hamas.
The Huthi movement has previously carried out attacks on both warships and civil shipping, mainly in the Red Sea, citing that they want to show solidarity with Gaza’s population.
However, the attacks have targeted merchant vessels and military vessels from different countries, not just Israel.
