Stina Nilsson was nominated for the Swedish WC squad, but on Wednesday the Swede drove the EC in Lenzerheide instead.
Then it was a real fiasco, after four misses in the last shot and six misses in total.
Instead, it was Tilda Johansson who was responsible for a fine race in the track and finished in a top position.
There have been many tours of the Swedish squad for the Biathlon World Cup, and the discussions have been long. Stina Nilsson was in the fight for the last place for a long time, but was knocked out in the end and has to wait for his WC chance. But on Wednesday she was on the starting line during the EC in Switzerland and Lenzerheide.
Nightmare for Stina
However, it would not be Stina Nilsson’s day. It started well, where she kept pace with the top skaters both in the track and in the shooting. But in the fourth and last shot it fell flat. Nilsson shot away with four barriers, and the fight for the podium places was thus put away.

Instead, the eyes were directed towards Tilda Johansson, who also had a fine race both on the track and on the embankment. In fact, she was one of the absolute fastest on the track along with the promising German Selina Grotian. Johansson shot a total of two misses, but was otherwise faultless on the fence, which led to her entering second place after Grotian. Then followed a nervous wait.

Johansson impressed
The Italian Michela Carrara, who only missed one shot over four shooters, finished just after Tilda Johansson. And she did it by taking over the lead by a good margin, which meant that she simultaneously pushed the Swede down to third place. She held that position for a long time, but in the end the German could Vanessa Hinz push Johansson off the podium. But despite that, Johansson was able to be happy about a good placement in the European Championship premiere, and thus shows that she can be counted on in the future.

Stina Nilsson in turn landed on a total of six bars and finished 5.32 behind Michela Carrara. However, Stina can take with her that the riding was stable, and must take new steps when it comes to shooting on the dyke.
