Paddy Considine gave one of the best acting performances of the first season of House of the Dragon as King Viserys. As he now revealed, he paid a high physical price for it at times. In the character’s death scene he almost lost consciousness. And his hip was also affected.
Paddy Considine’s body let him down in grueling House of the Dragon scene
He explained this to Complex:
we were shooting [die letzten Viserys-Szenen im Bett] for several days. My oxygen levels plummeted. my head told my body that I wasn’t getting enough oxygen. it’s so strange When you behave ill, the head tells the body that you are ill. I had to take a break because I almost passed out while shooting these scenes.
And apparently that wasn’t Considine’s only handicap. Because of his character’s constant limp according to the interview, he injured his hip, when his long journey to the Iron Throne had to be reshot again and again for Episode 8.
When is House of the Dragon season 2 coming?
Considine has wrapped up his arduous, if terrific, role in the Game of Thrones prequel. The series itself will continue, but some time will pass before then. We expect 2024 at the earliest with new House of the Dragon episodes.
