At the turn of the year, the renovation of Dansens hus starts.
“We are looking forward to our return in 2024 in new, modernized premises, but in the meantime, we will make sure to present and create both international and Swedish-based contemporary dance art as much as possible – in, for us, exciting new places around town “, says Johannes Öhman, theater director Dansens hus, in a press release.
In the meantime, the art of dance is moved primarily to the Electric Power Plant in Östermalm, but also to Folkets hus in Årsta, Bonniers Art Hall and Hallen in Farsta.
In addition to new venues, the spring program contains many premieres. Out of a total of 17 guest plays, 12 are performed for the first time.
Among the program items at Elverket is a comeback performance by choreographer Hagar Malin Hellkvist Sellén, the dance group Unruly Gang’s dancehall-scented “Rule” and Elle Sofe Sara’s work “Vástádus eana/The answer is land”.
Among others, Tilman O’Donnell’s “Etudes I & II”, Sindri Runudde’s children’s play “Sälskap” and Sidney Leoni’s Nijinsky portrait “Fly” are performed at the Hall.
Dansens hus will move back to Norra Bantorget in autumn 2024.
