Frida Karlsson has had a nightmare start to the pre-season.
Right in the first training, she beat herself bloody in Östersund.
On Instagram, the skiing star has shared the horror pictures.
The last ski season was very successful for the Swedish star skier Frida Karlsson. For the first time in a long time, she managed to stay relatively injury- and disease-free and was therefore able to show her full potential as a cross-country skier.
Karlsson’s success
The big achievement was of course the Swede’s overall victory at the Tour de Ski after an impressive final day where Karlsson went all out to win the mini-tour. The 23-year-old succeeded and fulfilled the high expectations for her in the 2023 World Ski Championships in Planica, where she won medals in all the races she competed in.

Frida returned home to Sweden with double WC silver and double WC bronze. But that was last season and already now it is time to look forward to the new ski season.

Frida’s accident
For Frida Karlsson has already started the pre-season with snow training. But it was also a highly dramatic start for the Swede, who was beaten bloody already during the first training in Östersund.

On a downhill run, it went so badly that blood gushed from both nose and mouth. Karlsson has posted the horror pictures on Instagram and there you can see how the face is full of blood and the snow around is covered in blood, see the pictures below.

Scary pictures
Despite the scary pictures, she still seems to be in a good mood and doing well, because in some of the pictures you can see her smiling and laughing about the accident.
“Then we start a new training year,” writes Frida herself on Instagram about the nasty incident.
For those of us who have followed Frida Karlsson throughout her career, she always manages to find ways to hurt herself or end up in unfortunate accidents. The workout buddy Moa Ilar was there when it happened and seems to have been involved in some way himself, see the pictures below.
