The hope: New spray will combat antibiotic resistance

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Resistance to antibiotics is seen as one of the most serious threats to public health. According to the WHO, more than 700,000 people die every year as a result of multidrug-resistant bacteria.

But now there is good news in the fight against antibiotic resistance. Researchers at Chalmers in Gothenburg have invented a spray that kills these bacteria. Not only that, the spray must also be able to be used for preventive purposes.

– We also see this as an opportunity to prevent an infection from occurring, says Martin Andersson/professor, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Chalmers
