The hope for new MMORPGs is criticized, but salvation is approaching from an unusual direction

The new MMORPG Ashes of Creation was exposed to harsh criticism at the beginning of January 2025: A YouTuber who had followed the game for 4 years took a harsh stance against the online role-playing game. But now Twitch streamer Pirate Software is protecting it, even from Asmongold.

    Now who will defend Ashes of Creation? The biggest MMORPG YouTuber and Twitch streamer is Jason Thor Hall, a former Blizzard developer known as Pirate Software.

    In a YouTube video, he clearly refutes a statement from Narc that the desert is so poorly and barrenly depicted that you can get it that way in just a few minutes with the Unreal Engine.

    Pirate Software states that Narc intentionally made the desert look bad in his video by showing an early version of the desert and then a spot where space was left for a “node.” This is a deliberately false representation.

    Even if Pirate Software understands that you are angry with a game, you still have to stick to the truth.

    Pirate Software tells Asmongold how good Ashes of Creation is

    This is how Pirate Software sees the game: In a conversation with the controversial YouTuber Asmongold, Pirate Software goes on to say that the team communicates very well and, above all, the head of the MMORPG, Steven Sharif, is unusually approachable and accessible.
