For a long time it has not been possible for men to compete in artistic swimming at major championships. As of 2015, the men were allowed to take a place at the WC and from the 2024 Olympics in Paris, they can participate in the team discipline.
David Martinez from SK Neptun will compete in technical solo at the WC, something that is not allowed at the Olympics and men are also not allowed to compete in mixed pairs. At the WC it is different and the championship in Qatar takes place from 2-10 February 2024.
– David has had a nice development in recent years and has shown through his results in the Hungarian Cup two weeks ago that he is ready to compete at the world championships in Doha, says Eva Svenssson, chairman of the artistic swimming committee.
Since before, Sandra Freund, from the same club, has also been selected.
