It all started with IJsselmeervogels, the club where Ruizendaal played his entire youth, and where he also made his debut in the first team. “Sander Duijndam was the first keeper, Raymond Koopman and I were the second and third keeper. Duijndam actually played everything that year, but he was suspended for the derby against Spakenburg. That was my debut,” says Ruizendaal.
